I didn't take the time to inform her that he wasn't mine. <br>
<br>
A few minutes later,<br>
<br>
"Aww, he's cute." "Thank you", I responded. Again, not taking time to correct the well meaning passerby. He is cute. He takes after his babysitter. <br>
<br><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-lFQ5C-fVNmM/VDgrTt6VGpI/AAAAAAAAEVM/Oprshg6S8M4/s640/blogger-image-2026725782.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-lFQ5C-fVNmM/VDgrTt6VGpI/AAAAAAAAEVM/Oprshg6S8M4/s640/blogger-image-2026725782.jpg"></a></div><br>
"He" is Gunner. The baby I take care of. He'll be 4 months old next week. It's been a rough week for Gunner and I. Right now he's sitting by me playing and talking in his bouncer. The first he's been happy all day. <br>
<br>
Between teething, tummy trouble, snuffly noses, coughs, and not enough sleep, he's not been full of giggles and smiles all week long. <br>
<br>
I can't say that I've been a role model babysitter either. I get frustrated when something is wrong and I can't fix it. Which happens a lot babysitting. Right now I'm looking at the clock thinking: "In an hour he'll be gone, and it's the end of the week". <i>Thinking positive, that's the way. </i> In an hour he'll leave and I won't see him again until Monday. <br>
<br>
I can already tell you, when I see him Monday I'll quickly get him out of his carseat and snuggle with him, proclaiming how much he's grown the last couple of days. <i>Four month olds grow too fast! </i><br>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-Hx9dBpo2sBk/VDgrgnntwoI/AAAAAAAAEVk/mHpMn9nbz0E/s640/blogger-image-848695247.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-Hx9dBpo2sBk/VDgrgnntwoI/AAAAAAAAEVk/mHpMn9nbz0E/s640/blogger-image-848695247.jpg"></a></div><br>
You see, I may not have birthed him. He may have a mommy and a daddy that love him and take care of him, and I want them to be good parents to him. But, between Monday and Friday, he's mine. On good days, I'll think: "I get all the joys of having a child, without all the responsibilities." On bad days, my thoughts change: "I have to deal with all this, and I don't even get the joy of being his mommy." <i>wishy-washy charlie brown </i><br>
<br>
I've grown to love this little boy that I care for, and I've learned a few things from being his care taker. <br>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-Re2M0-S1c6Y/VDgrkYnlsyI/AAAAAAAAEVs/kCvVVMsJilI/s640/blogger-image-1422674097.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-Re2M0-S1c6Y/VDgrkYnlsyI/AAAAAAAAEVs/kCvVVMsJilI/s640/blogger-image-1422674097.jpg"></a></div><br>
:: Choose Joy ::<br>
<br>
Earlier today, I was scrolling through instagram and I saw a post from a mother whose little boy had gotten into her make-up. Her hashtag amused me, and then got me thinking. <i>#choosejoychoosejoychoosejoy </i><br>
<i><br></i>
I may not be his mommy, but just like this mommy, day by day I have to choose joy. When he starts screaming for apparently no reason, and the boys of the household complain about the noise, I have to choose joy. <br>
<br>
:: I am the only one who will provide for a proper Biblical raising for this child ::<br>
<br>
In my effort to choose joy, I need to remember that he see's Christ through me. Now, maybe not yet. This little four month old has no idea the difference between his babysitter family and his real family. But as he gets older, and, hopefully, I continue to care for him, I pray that he will find Christ through me. <br>
<br>
:: It won't get better ::<br>
<br>
This doesn't sound very cheery, but it's a good reminder for me. When things are going bad, I have a tendency to think "oh, if I could just get married", "oh, if this would happen" "Oh..." that everything will be better. <i>Am I the only girl that thinks this way? </i><br>
<br>
False. <br>
<br>
This is were God has me. I'm so thankful. Really, I am. I may dream of a higher education, a better paying job, a family of my own. But I don't want it right now. Right now I want exactly what I have. Exactly what God has given me. <br>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-ZnVboyyhoII/VDgrZIY447I/AAAAAAAAEVU/2AnVprS22Cw/s640/blogger-image--1209401886.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-ZnVboyyhoII/VDgrZIY447I/AAAAAAAAEVU/2AnVprS22Cw/s640/blogger-image--1209401886.jpg"></a></div><br>
Right now God's given me this precious little boy to watch. To laugh with, to stress over. To care for. <br>
<br>
This little baby is my life. <br>
<br>
He may not be mine, but I choose to enjoy him while he's little. <br>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-gqz0hlIjThw/VDgrcjXOaWI/AAAAAAAAEVc/x3TuTI85DaQ/s640/blogger-image--923999036.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-gqz0hlIjThw/VDgrcjXOaWI/AAAAAAAAEVc/x3TuTI85DaQ/s640/blogger-image--923999036.jpg"></a></div><br>
<i>Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. </i><br>

I am so excited to post again... I've been doing some blogging research and have a lot of new ideas. All those ideas are a bit overwhelming though! But, hopefully, you'll be seeing some new things on the blog soon. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Here are a two outfits for ya'll. Sweater weather is coming up, and I'm excited to get out my fall wardrobe. It always feels like I just bought a closet full of new clothes! :) </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-8DYx5UOoU7w/VC31jKkB5MI/AAAAAAAAEUY/E9VsOljYy6w/s640/blogger-image-923981801.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-8DYx5UOoU7w/VC31jKkB5MI/AAAAAAAAEUY/E9VsOljYy6w/s320/blogger-image-923981801.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
This outfit was inspired by the gorgeous brooch that my dear friend Hannah S. made me. I was able to meet her and her family when I was in Alabama in August. We had a great day of shopping and getting to know each other! <span style="font-size: x-small;">I'm sorry that the picture is blurry, it was taken on my phone :) </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">

This outfit came from my trip to Alabama as well :) I love navy because it goes with practically EvEryThinG! And I love this orange sweater and finding things that go with it. <span style="background-color: white; color: #4c4c4c; font-family: 'Brandon Text', sans-serif; font-size: 15px; line-height: 22.0000057220459px;">Long before Adam Brown became a member of the elite SEAL Team SIX—the counterterrorism unit that took down Osama bin Laden—he was a fun-loving country boy from Hot Springs, Arkansas, whose greatest goal had been to wear his high school’s football jersey. An undersized daredevil, prone to jumping off roofs into trees and off bridges into lakes, Adam was a kid who broke his own bones but would never break a</span><br />

Battling his inner demons on a last-chance road to redemption, Adam had one goal: to become the best of the best—a U.S. Navy SEAL.</span><br />

<span style="box-sizing: border-box; color: black; font-weight: 700;"><img src="http://www.randomhouse.com/images/dyn/cover/?source=9780307729989&width=125" style="-webkit-user-select: none; background-color: transparent;" />As love restores Rhoda, a sudden tragedy is the test of faith she never saw coming.</span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #4c4c4c; font-family: 'Brandon Text', sans-serif; font-size: 0.9375em; line-height: 1.466667em; margin-top: 19px;">
More settled in her heart than ever before, Rhoda Byler feels a newfound confidence living in the Old Order Amish settlement she helped establish in Orchard Bend, Maine. Time has helped to heal the wounds of Rhoda’s recent severed relationship, and she finds that even her unusual gift of profound intuition is less of a burden as she continues to seek God’s wisdom for her future. She is happy to be working alongside the King family and the love of her life as they tend and nurture the settlement’s orchard.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #4c4c4c; font-family: 'Brandon Text', sans-serif; font-size: 0.9375em; line-height: 1.466667em; margin-top: 19px;">
Yet when Leah King’s involvement with Englischer Landon Olson becomes known outside of the Maine community, her disregard of the Ordnung could threaten all the Orchard Bend Amish are building. In the midst of addressing the discord, a shocking tragedy challenges the young settlement like never before, threatening to uproot Rhoda’s peace and the future of everything she holds dear.</div>
<span style="background-color: white; color: #4c4c4c; font-family: 'Brandon Text', sans-serif; font-size: 0.9375em; line-height: 1.466667em;">When several members of Orchard Bend Farms are displaced, the estranged King brother is called upon to return. Can those who founded the new Amish community in Maine unite Or will the lingering pain of past hurts and present struggles result in the end of their dreams? </span><br />

I really enjoyed this book. It took a while to get into because it is the fourth book in a series I haven't read, but will be soon. Once I got about halfway through, I couldn't put it down. One aspect that I really enjoyed was the real view she gave into an Amish lifestyle. </div>

So true... But I love VBS, it's one of my favorite weeks of the year. This year was especially epic. We changed our usual three days to five days this year. This was partly due to the fact that we had three extra helpers this year. Pastor recruited the help of the Heartland VBS North team. They did a great job helping with the kids. </div>

Over all, we had a great week. There were around 24 people saved, one of which was a father that came with his kids. We ended the week with a final service. As it was starting, Jed was leading the kids in some songs and stopped and said "Ok, who wants to have another week" All the kids loved the idea, but the workers were ready for a break :) </div>

Forsaking security and an arranged marriage, she enlists frontiersman Jesse Bird to guide her to the Watauga settlement in western North Carolina. But shedding her old life doesn’t come without cost. As the two cross a vast mountain wilderness, Tamsen faces hardships that test the limits of her faith and endurance. </span><span style="background-color: white; color: #4c4c4c; font-family: brandon_regular, sans-serif; font-size: 15px; line-height: 22.0000057220459px;"> </span><br>

With trouble in pursuit, Tamsen and Jesse find themselves thrust into the conflict of a divided community of Overmountain settlers. The State of Franklin has been declared, but many remain loyal to North Carolina. With one life left behind and chaos on the horizon, Tamsen struggles to adapt to a life for which she was never prepared. But could this challenging frontier life be what her soul has longed for, what God has been leading her toward? As pursuit draws ever nearer, will her faith see her through the greatest danger of all—loving a man who has risked everything for her?</span><div>

<ul>
<li><span style="color: #4c4c4c; font-family: brandon_regular, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 15.454545021057129px; line-height: 22.0000057220459px;">The Author's style: She grabbed my attention continually</span></span></li>
<li><span style="color: #4c4c4c; font-family: brandon_regular, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 15.454545021057129px; line-height: 22.0000057220459px;">The plot line: I was always wondering what was going to happen next. </span></span></li>

The author was able to wrap up every point of wonder and there were many surprises at the end of the book</span></span></li>
</ul>
<div>
<span style="color: #4c4c4c; font-family: brandon_regular, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 15.454545021057129px; line-height: 22.0000057220459px;">What I didn't Like:</span></span></div>

This would not be a book that I would recommend to others, especially younger girls, due solely to this point. </span></span></li>
<li><span style="color: #4c4c4c; font-family: brandon_regular, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 15.454545021057129px; line-height: 22.0000057220459px;">There were only a few points where I would be bored with the storyline and skip over the page. </span></span></li>

This afternoon in between church services we took a trip to the hospital to meet my nephew Kyle James Covey. His parents went to the hospital yesterday morning, and he was born that afternoon at 35 weeks. Being a little bit premature he had a few problems, but through out the night everything started balancing out. There are still some respiratory issues, but he is doing very well. He was born 5 lbs. 11 oz. and 17 1/2 inches long. My tiny little guy!</div>

Fret. Anxiety. Impatience. <div><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">I struggle with those feelings as much as the next person. Seriously, who doesn't? </span></div><div><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">I've been going through a time lately when I've been very discontent. Everything was going wrong it seemed like. </span></div><div><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">The other day I was out on visitation with Mrs. Shuster (thank you, Lord, for that lady!) we were talking about a lady that has been coming to our church for the past month and just in the passing conversation she mentioned a verse. Immediately it struck a heart chord. I knew I'd have to look up that verse when I got home. It was just what I needed. </span></div><div><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Well, the evening passed and I got home and forgot about the verse. Two days later I was reading in my Bible and God brought that verse back to me in my reading. I immediately wrote it down after that and have it hanging on the wall. </span></div><div><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Isn't God wonderful the way he works like that!? I'd like to share the verse with you as well, maybe it will bring encouragement to you today! </span></div><div><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-HAFQRHPv4T0/U22SkgkhdzI/AAAAAAAAEGU/bx_R05DR88Y/s640/blogger-image--1365171638.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-HAFQRHPv4T0/U22SkgkhdzI/AAAAAAAAEGU/bx_R05DR88Y/s640/blogger-image--1365171638.jpg"></a></div><br></div><br></span></div>Sarah Coveyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03101203987680406049noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1182091415778110516.post-64539249504413038312014-04-30T10:54:00.001-04:002014-04-30T10:54:26.255-04:00GiveawayHead over to lovehannahb.com for a giveaway with some awesome chalk drawings :) Sarah Coveyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03101203987680406049noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1182091415778110516.post-49646234851298385772014-04-12T20:00:00.003-04:002014-09-30T20:59:19.982-04:00Book Review || A Table By the WindowThis book was another one that I wasn't able to put down. The author did a great job grabbing my attention and keeping it! <br>
I enjoyed the plot line of the story, although I don't agree with the use of online dating services. I loved the personality, attitude, and character of the main character, Julietta. The author was able to write this book in a way that can relate to most readers, including the modern day happenings. There was a tiny bit of French and Italian history, romance, comedy, and intrigue.<br>
It was also interesting for me as I came across the different recipes that were in the book. It made the book not only a source of enjoyment, but useful as well. <br>
I was slightly disappointed as there was no glossary in the book, but both French and Italian were used throughout the book. I was able to pick out some words, but there were points where I had to imagine what the conversation was saying. <br>
For more information you can visit the author's blog <a href="http://www.hillarymantonlodge.com/blog.html">here</a>, you can also read the first chapter <a href="http://waterbrookmultnomah.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/SneakPeek_TablebytheWindow.pdf">here</a><br>

It seems like it's been forever since I really posted on here. I've been doing the 30 day challenge, but that's about it. It has been very busy here lately, but don't I always say that?? Here are some pictures of things I've been up to. Not in order, lol! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-esClmfONU2g/U0MrPzxDchI/AAAAAAAAEC0/1qxzX94gjr0/s1600/IMG_0010.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-esClmfONU2g/U0MrPzxDchI/AAAAAAAAEC0/1qxzX94gjr0/s1600/IMG_0010.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I started babysitting this little cutie, Chloie. I watch her Monday-Friday every other week. She keeps me on my toes! </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-sCLXGPV8LRM/U0MrP7je85I/AAAAAAAAEC4/BLbd5F-cOCU/s1600/IMG_0092.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-sCLXGPV8LRM/U0MrP7je85I/AAAAAAAAEC4/BLbd5F-cOCU/s1600/IMG_0092.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I've been "jumping the gun" on all things spring and warm. I'm so done with winter. I did these decorations, and more, quite a while back... while the temps were still like this:</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-kQBx5n2D5go/U0MrN85wIfI/AAAAAAAAECs/G1CSnjv-jro/s1600/IMG_0099.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-kQBx5n2D5go/U0MrN85wIfI/AAAAAAAAECs/G1CSnjv-jro/s1600/IMG_0099.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I think it got even colder that night. It has warmed up now. It was in the 50's today! </div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-W8-onTvkRSM/U0MrU5MZNPI/AAAAAAAAEDM/93bWSDxFuh4/s1600/IMG_0146.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-W8-onTvkRSM/U0MrU5MZNPI/AAAAAAAAEDM/93bWSDxFuh4/s1600/IMG_0146.JPG" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
A month ago I got my wisdom teeth taken out. That was quite an experience! The pain wasn't nearly as bad as I had imagined it would be, but the side effects were worse than we all thought they would be. It was rough for me, because I usually am not one to enjoy down time! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-xlQwbNk1aVg/U0MrSjD-wZI/AAAAAAAAEDE/uS4nNQwZTBE/s1600/IMG_0143.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-xlQwbNk1aVg/U0MrSjD-wZI/AAAAAAAAEDE/uS4nNQwZTBE/s1600/IMG_0143.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
In the state of my "druggedness" my darling brothers brought in these flowers. *cue tears* they can be the sweetest things sometimes :)</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-10hRMRNsZao/U0MrWrgGTWI/AAAAAAAAEDc/8kY5bZ7nCSw/s1600/IMG_0177.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-10hRMRNsZao/U0MrWrgGTWI/AAAAAAAAEDc/8kY5bZ7nCSw/s1600/IMG_0177.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
We also made on final ski trip... in mid-March. The skiing conditions were perfect, in March. Welcome to Michigan. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-x8nvD1dvixI/U0MraC75x7I/AAAAAAAAEDk/rSnVH_zmLPg/s1600/IMG_0180.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-x8nvD1dvixI/U0MraC75x7I/AAAAAAAAEDk/rSnVH_zmLPg/s1600/IMG_0180.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
We went to Cabrafae in Cadillac, it's not my favorite place for skiing, but the view... well, the picture speaks for itself. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-zp7l-X86i34/U0Mrah61PNI/AAAAAAAAEDo/OlkM0MOC-UA/s1600/IMG_0184.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-zp7l-X86i34/U0Mrah61PNI/AAAAAAAAEDo/OlkM0MOC-UA/s1600/IMG_0184.JPG" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I was also able to spend a couple of days babysitting this guy again! Isn't he so grown up?! He is getting around quite well now, and is prepping to be a big brother in October. ~Insert excited squeals!~ </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Most recently of my adventures is a piano recital. I had a lot of fun putting it all together and was thoroughly pleased with the work all my students put into it. They did marvelous. </div>

<li>Sleep... haha, this week has been wacko! </li>
<li>Wisdom and Patience... to get me through wacko weeks! </li>
<li>Time... so my weeks aren't so wacko. Time to clean more, practice more, create more, and do things with family and friends</li>
<li>A cricut</li>
<li>One more job... The Lord has been blessing our family with providing us all jobs. I started a new babysitting job this week, thus the wacko week. I'm praying for one more small job, tutoring or piano, etc. </li>
<li>A car</li>
<li>A wonderful family in the future :) </li>
<li>Warm weather... Spring... no more snow!</li>

How is the weather in your area? Has spring arrived? </div>

In the end, it did turn out to be an interesting book with some points that I liked and, equally, parts that I didn't like.<br>
<br>
As soon as I got into the book, I realized that the auther, John L Allen Jr, had done a tremendous amount of research on this topic. I could tell he knew what he was talking about. The only thing about his research was that I noticed a focus on certain religions. There was very little about persecution on Baptists... it was focused on Catholics, Muslims, and other "evangelical" divisions. <br>
<br>
I found that the book was, for the most part, over my head. I did not find it grabbing my attention at all. Also, there was one point during one of the illustrations were the author included a cuss word. <br>
<br>
*Personal disclaimer; I do not agree with everything about this author, or the information in the book. As my usual readers know, I do not agree with the ideas presented by Catholics, and hold to a Baptist viewpoint. <br>

I love to dream about the future and what my life will be like.
