This Week & Two Friends

This week has been slightly busy with work and play and all the fun and the not so fun things of life!  Yesterday we had a church-wide skating party, which was a lot of fun!  I wanted to get lots of pictures, but I forgot to grab my camera in the rush out the door, and my phone was being used for the music, so I got.... none.  It was a great time tho, we skated for about two hours, and some of my time was spent walking the rink with little kids or carrying them around.  But then the rest of the time I was racing my brothers or trying skating tricks with Jesse.  There was one point that Jesse and I were going around backwards (we were usually the only ones doing so) and one of the little girls asked if we were having a competition, and I replied "No, we're just both very competitive, and a bit show-off-y" lol.  Which is true.  :)  There were minimal injuries through the night, which is a praise.  Dakota came home with a fat lip, and I have a burn right under my eyebrow, from where Luke elbowed me in the eye when we ran into each other, and my back hurt a little bit again, but not to bad and it's definitely feeling better today!
So that's my life... I've been looking at my blog this week and realizing that it is a very boring blog, lol!! So, I'm trying to think of more ways to make it interesting!!!!
This is one of my favorite songs, so I thought I'd share it with ya'll!

MY FRIEND, I STAND IN JUDGMENT NOW
AND FEEL THAT YOU’RE TO BLAME SOMEHOW
ON EARTH I WALKED BESIDE YOU DAY BY DAY
YOU COULD HAVE LED ME STRAIGHT TO HIM
MY KNOWLEDGE THEN WAS VERY DIM
BUT NEVER ONCE DID YOU SHOW ME THE WAY

I CALLED YOU FRIEND BUT THAT WAS THEN
WHEN WE WERE YOUNG AND BEST OF FRIENDS
LIVING HERE ON GOD'S CREATED EARTH
BUT NOW I KNOW THAT ITS TOO LATE
YOU COULD HAVE KEPT ME FROM THIS FATE
YOU NEVER TOLD ME OF THE SECOND BIRTH

1ST CHORUS
AND NOW I’M LOST FOREVER I’M BURNING IN THIS AWFUL PLACE
I’M SUFFERING SO MUCH PAIN HERE AND THRU IT ALL I SEE YOUR FACE
I’M GLAD YOU’RE BOUND FOR HEAVEN AND YOU WON’T REACH THIS BITTER END
OH IT’S SO HARD TO STAY HERE – KNOWING THAT YOU WERE ONCE MY FRIEND

YOU TAUGHT ME MANY THINGS THAT’S TRUE
I CALLED YOU FRIEND, I TRUSTED YOU
WE WALKED BY DAY AND TALKED A LOT AT NIGHT
BUT NOW I KNOW THAT IT’S TOO LATE
YOU COULD HAVE KEPT ME FROM THIS FATE
AND SHOWN ME HOW TO WALK IN PATHS OF LIGHT

OH THAT YOU LET ME LIVE AND LOVE AND DIE
YOU KNEW I’D NEVER LIVE ON HIGH
SO NOW I STAND THIS DAY AT LAST CONDEMNED.
YES, I CALLED YOU MY FRIEND IN LIFE
AND TRUSTED YOU THRU JOY AND STRIFE,
BUT NOW I SEE THAT YOU WERE NOT MY FRIEND.

2ND CHORUS
SO TELL OUR FRIENDS ABOUT THE LORD SO THEY WILL MISS THIS AWFUL PLACE.
SO THEY WON’T SUFFER SO MUCH PAIN, AND IN THEIR SUFFERING SEE YOUR FACE
I'M GLAD YOU’RE BOUND FOR HEAVEN AND YOU WON’T REACH THIS BITTER END
BUTS IT’S SO HARD TO STAY HERE – KNOWING THAT YOU WERE ONCE MY FRIEND
PLEASE BRING YOUR FRIENDS TO JESUS AND THEN THEY’LL ALWAYS CALL YOU FRIEND

Family Picture

Thursday we had a graduation service for Luke and Christian. Luke actually graduated last year, but since we were in the process of getting ready to move back to Michigan, mom wanted to wait until we had so he could have his commencement ceremony here. We were all excited because we were able to have Dr. Don Green come and preach the ceremony. It was a great service. Here's a pic of me with my brothers. Yes, I do have an unaccountable older brother that you might have never heard of before and yes, I have four brothers and no sisters :). Lol.

When Love Came Down

When Love came down to earth and made His home with man
The hopeless found a hope, the sinner found a friend
Not to the powerful, but to the poor He came
And humble, hungry hearts were satisfied in Him
What joy, what peace has come to us
What hope, what help, what love
When every unclean thought and every sinful deed
Was scourged upon his back and hammered through his feet
The Innocent is cursed, the guilty are released
The punishment of God on God has brought me peace
Come lay your heavy load down at the Master’s feet
Your shame will be removed, your joy will be complete
Come crucify your pride and enter as a child
For those who bow down low He’ll lift up to His side

Dakota's Birthday @ Dow Gardens

Today is Dakota's 14th Birthday!! (On a side note: does anyone else feel *old* when their little brother enters the 'teen' years?!)  We stopped at Taco Bell for lunch then took it to Dow Gardens for a picnic... of course I can't go to Dow without doing a photo op, but all I had was my phone so we made do...
The weather was perfect at that point, although it has turned into *another* rainy day now :(  Oh well, at least it's not snowing!!

Dakota and the butterflies... (Out of order)

Dakota got a pretty awesome new shirt!

Let the posing begin!!  My brothers are somewhat cooperative with me, which is wonderful!!

Me and my guys... Luke is gone for work, so that's why he's not in any pics!

There's this old barn that I was introduced to when we came here for my senior pics... I love it and take advantage of it whenever I'm there!!

I really like this picture... if only I had arranged them a little better, but oh well...
